What is OSSTF D24 T/OTBU?

OSSTF stands for the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation.

We are a union that represents more than 60,000 education staff across the province - not only teachers, but also education workers from many different job classes. You can learn more about OSSTF’s mission and how it is organized here.

OSSTF is divided into 37 districts throughout Ontario. Waterloo Region is in District 24. There are 6 bargaining units that make up our district - a bargaining unit is an employee group that negotiates its own contract. Each has its own President, Chief Negotiator, and other members of their executive:

AEICW - Adult Educators, Instructors, & Childcare Workers - Represents these workers in the Waterloo Catholic District School Board

CAMA - Custodial and Maintenance Association - Represents workers in Custodial and Maintenance in the WRDSB

ESS - Educational Support Staff & STSWR - Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region - Represents over 117 support staff job classes, including Secretaries, Technicians Library Clerks, and Outdoor Educators in both elementary and secondary WRDSB schools, as well as members of STSWR

PSSP - Professional Student Support Personnel - Represents Communicative Disorders Assistants, Psychological Services Consultants, Social Workers, and Speech Language Pathologists in the WRDSB

SMACA - Supervision Monitors and Cafeteria Assistants - Represents these workers in both elementary and secondary WRDSB schools

T/OTBU: Teachers & Occasional Teachers - Represents these workers in secondary WRDSB schools

DISTRICT 24
